COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Williamson County Fair announced nominations are open for the 2025 Hometown Heroes Recognition, a program presented by Atmos Energy that honors military veterans who live or work nearby. The ceremony will be held on August 9 at 10:30 a.m. on the Nissan Stage—nominations must be submitted by July 10.  Williamson County Source

BUSINESS NEWS

  • A new outdoor clothing store called Tom Beckbe Store No. 5 will open on Main Street in downtown Franklin by the end of May — the store will sell men’s and women’s outdoor clothes and gear, including the popular Tensaw jacket.  Williamson County Source
  • DT McCall & Sons is helping local customers prepare for Memorial Day cookouts by offering a wide range of grills and home appliances with free delivery, special financing, and local service—supporting Middle Tennessee families for over 100 years.   • On May 2nd, Braswell & Son held a ribbon cutting at 1203 Murfreesboro Rd. in Franklin and the new luxury retailer now offers brands like Louis Vuitton, Coach, Rolex & Tiffany.  Williamson County Source

CULTURE NEWS

  • Capitol Christian Music Group signed singer-songwriter ELI GABLE and he will release his debut single 'Holy Ghost Town' on May 16—The Ohio-born artist moved to Nashville in 2020 and plans to share his soulful sound with fans.  Williamson County Source

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Franklin City Administrator Eric Stuckey recommended a balanced budget for fiscal year 2025-2026 that will set the property tax rate at 0.32 per $100 and raise the hotel tax from 4% to 5%—funding road upgrades, park improvements, and public services. The plan also boosts the General Fund to $128.1 million, up 9.7% from last year, and adds new city jobs with updated pay plans.  Williamson County Source

HEALTH NEWS

  • Food establishments in Williamson received a perfect 100 health score following inspections held from May 6–13; inspectors visited each site at least twice a year to check for food safety. Businesses must display inspection reports for the public to review.  Williamson County Source
  • Food safety inspections from May 6-13 showed that four local restaurants received the county’s lowest scores. The affected establishments are The Honeysuckle, Cajun Steamer, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Amaravati Indian Cuisine + health officials remind each restaurant to display its current inspection report for public review.  Williamson County Source
