COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Factory at Franklin and The Circle of Giving will mark the Carousel of Dreams' one-year anniversary with two events this weekend: a free family celebration on May 30 (10 a.m.–2 p.m.) at The Factory and a ticketed evening on May 31 (6:30–8:30 p.m.) featuring a silent auction supporting nonprofits.  Williamson County Source

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Wednesday, May 13, at 4:32 p.m. a fire broke out at Half Way Market & Diner on West Main Street in Franklin, and firefighters worked over an hour to contain the blaze, which caused significant interior damage with no reported injuries; the restaurant will remain closed pending safety inspections.  Williamson Herald

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Live Nation Worldwide acquired Franklin’s FirstBank Amphitheater (a 7,500-seat outdoor venue built on a 150-acre site) for $23.49 million. The company said all current full-time employees will remain to support local operations.  Williamson Herald

CULTURE NEWS

  • A photo of the day from Williamson Health shows newborn horses wearing handmade outfits by Debi Reynolds as they kick up dust at Franklin Rodeo. The event will run from May 14 to 16 at AG EXPO Park and honors its 75th anniversary (presented by the Franklin Noon Rotary Club).  Williamson County Source
  • The Nashville Symphony is set to perform a free summer concert series in local parks from June 3 through 13, including a choral event at the Factory at Franklin on Sunday, Jun. 7 at 7:00 p.m. The concerts offer family-friendly activities + food options.  Williamson County Source

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Ravenwood High Chamber Orchestra was chosen as one of 14 ensembles from 130 submissions to compete at the National Orchestra Festival in Chicago next February. Director Allison Cowan said the invitation reflects the students' dedication (WCS Fine Arts confirmed the honor).  Williamson County Source
  • Three WCS educators were named 2026 Music Teachers of Excellence by the CMA Foundation for their work in music education (they will share a $5,000 award and be honored at a red carpet gala in Nashville on Wednesday, Oct. 7).  Williamson County Source
  • WCS back to school forms become available May 22 for families with returning students, while forms for rising freshmen from Franklin Special District open June 22. Families must sign in to Skyward (via desktop or laptop) and complete the forms by Tuesday, July 14 to finalize registration.  Williamson County Source
  • Franklin High Army JROTC Admiral Battalion completed Operation Return to Launch at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, where cadets learned leadership, teamwork + mission planning through hands-on activities that reinforced their Army JROTC lessons.  Williamson County Source
  • High school DECA students earned international awards after competing at the International Career Development Conference in Atlanta. Winners from Page, Ravenwood, Independence, and Summit showcased their skills in categories including Entrepreneurship and Bell Challenge, according to school advisers.  Williamson County Source
  • Williamson County Schools honored seven bus drivers as April 2026 Bus Drivers of the Month during a May 6 ceremony. The honorees received a free breakfast (sponsored by Sonic Drive-In), gift cards, and certificates, and nominations for next fall will open soon.  Williamson County Source

HEALTH NEWS

  • Health inspectors released scores showing that several food and beverage establishments in Williamson County earned a perfect 100 after inspections conducted from May 6 to 13, with locations in Franklin and Brentwood among the top-rated.   • On May 8-9, Centennial High eSports team competed at Tennessee’s first high school eSports State Championship at Cumberland University, winning state titles in Valorant, Overwatch, Marvel Rivals and a Madden title for student Axel Ortega-Zetina.  Williamson County Source
