BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Fozzy’s Bar & Grill will open a second location later this year at 600 Frazier Drive in Franklin following the issuance of a business license in February. The restaurant, known for its food & drinks since opening its Spring Hill location in 2021, announced its expansion on social media. Williamson County Source
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Back to School forms for the 2025-26 school year will be available May 23 for returning WCS students—forms for incoming freshmen from Franklin Special District will open June 23—and families must log into Skyward via a desktop to submit the forms by July 11. Williamson County Source
- ➤ Williamson County Schools is enhancing safety today as Atmos Energy donates funds for two MultiRAE chemical detectors — the devices will help school teams monitor air quality and respond to hazards. Williamson County Source
- ➤ The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum hosted its 46th annual celebration for Words & Music® today. School-aged participants and their families gathered in the Ford Theater while Capitol Records Nashville artist Caylee Hammack performed her original song — Family Tree — and 14 student compositions were recorded to be shared on the museum’s website later this summer. - ➤ Williamson County Schools honored talented students in dance, music, theater and visual arts at The Factory in Franklin on May 6 during the Fine Arts Showcase — all semifinalists were recognized onstage. Finalists performed in 18 acts — highlighting local creativity. Williamson County Source
- ➤ Several WCS musical ensembles from Brentwood, Nolensville, Ravenwood and Summit high schools took part in the Tennessee American Choral Directors Association State Choral Assessment in April and earned superior ratings. Ravenwood High choir director Rose Hellmers praised the students' performance — the awards show strong choral work in the community. Williamson County Source
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Tennessee State Veterinarian Dr. Samantha Beaty warned animal owners to check for New World Screwworm, an invasive parasitic fly that causes painful wounds in livestock and pets (and rarely in humans). The state advises immediate reporting and proper inspections for animals that travel to help prevent an outbreak in Tennessee. Williamson County Source

- ➤ The Franklin Rodeo runs today through Saturday, May 17th with events starting at 7 pm each evening at the AG Expo Park — following the free Down in the Dirt Kick-off Party held on May 14th from 5:30 pm to 8 pm. Families will see seven PRCA rodeo events and kids can try mutton bustin’ while noting that strollers, coolers, backpacks, and similar items are not allowed. Williamson County Source
