- ➤ CoolSprings Galleria (1800 Galleria Boulevard, Franklin) is hosting its popular spring carnival through May 18 where families can enjoy fair food, rides and games. Wristbands cost $30. Williamson County Source
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ United Communications marked its fifth anniversary on May 7 at its Franklin headquarters with a ribbon cutting ceremony and began Phase 2 of its fiber expansion to bring fast internet to over 3,000 more homes and businesses. The company already serves more than 4,000 locations in Franklin and uses innovative Stealth Fiber technology to extend its network efficiently. Williamson County Source
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Concord Music Publishing announced today that singer-songwriter Grace Tyler signed her first worldwide publishing deal effective immediately and covering her catalog and upcoming releases. Tyler, originally from Frisco, Texas and a Belmont University alumna, said the deal marks a full-circle moment in her music career — following the attention from her debut EP Everything I Didn’t Say. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Three WCS educators from Franklin High School, Mill Creek Elementary and Page Middle School will be honored by the CMA Foundation on September 10 for excellence in music teaching—only 30 educators nationwide earned this award and each will receive a $5,000 stipend to support classroom needs. - ➤ WCS high school DECA students competed in Orlando at the end of April and Ravenwood High’s Abigail Goddard, Meghana Sappidi, and Lilyanne Smith won first in the Independent Business Plan category — other students from Brentwood, Page, Ravenwood, and Summit earned recognition in various events. - ➤ Woodland Middle was crowned champion of this year’s Battle of the Books—winning $5,000 for its school library. Teams from 11 middle schools and Hillsboro School competed in three rounds sponsored by Atmos Energy, which provided cash prizes for the top finishers. Williamson County Source
- ➤ Fairview Elementary became Williamson County's first school to earn the Tennessee Purple Star Award by hosting events and completing professional development that support military-connected families — the school will display its certificate and banner to mark the honor. Williamson County Source

- ➤ Ravenwood High won its first Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association Girls Flag Football State Invitational title on May 8 when the team beat Stone Memorial High 34—14.
