- ➤ Today the Brentwood Library hosts a summer reading event at 3 p.m. with games, food truck, and local service visits while the Music City Rodeo runs through May 31 at Bridgestone Arena—tomorrow the community will enjoy the Carousel of Dreams grand opening at Factory at Franklin at 1 p.m., the Peach Truck Tour in Spring Hill from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and a Cody Jinks concert at FirstBank Amphitheater at 7 p.m. Williamson County Source
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ An investigation by the Tennessee Comptroller’s Office found that officials at Davis House Child Advocacy Center (serving children and families in crisis) made unsupported credit card charges totaling at least $250,709.78 at upscale restaurants and entertainment venues, including one former executive director who used a card for personal expenses at a Florida conference. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Williamson County Schools announced the top students for the Class of 2025 from schools such as Franklin High, Vanguard Virtual, Summit, Renaissance, Ravenwood, Page, Nolensville, Independence, Fairview, Centennial, and Brentwood High. The students meet strict academic and service requirements — Superintendent Jason Golden said he is proud of their hard work and dedication. Williamson County Source
- ➤ Two Ravenwood High students earned perfect ACT composite scores on the April exam—Joseph Larson and Samantha Tatalovich reached a score of 36, making them the latest Williamson County achievers, and Principal Dr. Pam Vaden said their hard work shows how dedication leads to top results. - ➤ Heritage Middle School's fine arts programs earned top awards this spring—on May 17, the eighth-grade choir won first place at the Music in the Parks Festival, the orchestra secured Gold Standard trophies and the Overall Sweepstakes Award at the Southern Star Music Festival, and the seventh- and eighth-grade band placed second at Dollywood’s Music in the Parks competition. Nearly half of the student body takes part in band, choir, or orchestra as school administrators continue to support the arts. Williamson County Source
- ➤ Parents of students riding general education buses can now check bus route details for Summer Bridge Camp online by clicking the Summer Bridge Camp Bus Routes button on the Bus Routes & Transportation page. Families should verify information before camp starts (the Stopfinder app calendar shows June 3) and riders with special needs were contacted starting May 27 (updates were communicated by drivers).
