- ➤ Local investors and planning experts will host a multi-day public design charrette at Grace Church on Arno Road from Monday, July 28 through Tuesday, August 5 to shape the Arno Village project—community sessions include an opening workshop at 6 p.m. on Monday and daily design work that will use feedback to create a master plan for over 75 acres at the corner of Arno and Murfreesboro Roads. This effort invites neighbors and stakeholders to share their ideas for Franklin’s anticipated growth. Williamson Herald
- ➤ The Big Backpack Giveaway will take place on Saturday, July 26 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Williamson County Administrative Complex to provide free backpacks and school supplies to students, and county director Cathy Montgomery said volunteers and local groups made the event possible. - ➤ Three challengers filed to run for two Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen seats in the Oct. 28 election, with Ward 2 Alderman Matt Brown facing businessman B.K. Muvvala and veteran Erinn Watkins while Ward 4 Alderman Patrick Baggett contests against Dr. J. Rodney Taylor — candidates have until noon today to withdraw. Two other incumbents, Bev Burger of Ward 1 and Vice Mayor Jason Potts — run unopposed for their seats. Williamson Herald
