COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Poor Lisa headlined a sold-out fundraising concert at the Franklin Theatre that raised $9,800 for Music for Seniors—an organization that connects local musicians with older adults to reduce isolation and boost healthy aging. Both the theatre and the band plan to repeat the event annually to further support local seniors.  Williamson County Source
  • The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee awarded $15,000 to Friends of Williamson County Animal Center to fund free spay/neuter procedures, basic and emergency veterinary care, and fee forgiveness for pet owners in need—helping to reduce homeless cat populations. The grant, funded by the Patricia & Edward J. McGavock Humane Treatment of Animals Fund, supports services at the animal center in Franklin.  Williamson Herald
  • The Williamson County Fair has announced a new parking and transportation plan for the 21st annual fair at the Agricultural Expo Park from August 1 to 9, 2025. Visitors who cannot find on-site parking will use buses provided by the Williamson County School System to travel from overflow lots on Peytonsville Road — bus schedules and bus types vary by day.  Williamson County Source

  • Leiper's Fork Distillery opened House of Spirits on July 26th at 334 Main Street in downtown Franklin after transforming the former Grilled Cheeserie—offering a grain-to-glass whiskey along with vodka, gin, and local food from partner Circa. The venue operates Tuesday through Sunday from 11 am to 11 pm and plans to add transportation to its main campus—expanding its local experience.  Williamson County Source
  • Local entrepreneurs can now apply for EO Nashville’s Catalyst program that offers tools, support and skills for small business owners; applicants must be founders of a business with at least $250,000 in revenue and can attend info sessions in late July and August at the Nashville Entrepreneur Center. The 18-month program starts with classes led by Catalyst graduate Matt Charette and provides mentoring + networking opportunities, with applications closing Saturday, August 10.  Williamson County Source
