The Williamson County Fair is seeking volunteers for its event scheduled August 1—9 at the Ag Expo Park so locals can help run exhibits and greet guests.

Volunteers who work a minimum four-hour shift will earn free admission tickets, a volunteer t-shirt and hat, food discounts, access to a volunteer lounge, and an invitation to a volunteer appreciation dinner at 5:30 p.m. today.

WCS warned local businesses that a Texas-based company—Elite Sports—is targeting them for sponsorship funds for school spirit wear even though it is not linked with the district.

Bed Bath & Beyond Home will open on August 8th at 1624 Galleria Boulevard in Williamson County in the former Kirkland’s location.

The store will honor legacy Bed Bath & Beyond coupons—offering new coupons and a gift for the first 25 customers who make a purchase.

The Franklin Band will host its first Songwriter Showcase and Silent Auction on Saturday, August 2 at 6 p.m. at Franklin Special District’s Performing Arts Center—local songwriters and Franklin High students will perform to help fund the band’s trip to the 2026 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade.

Williamson County Schools received a $49,410 donation from FirstBank Amphitheater and Gibson Gives using funds from an auction of signed guitars, and the money will be used to buy new instruments and replace older ones across the district—supporting the fine arts programs.

Ravenwood High School senior Abigail Goddard won the INCubatoredu National Pitch contest by presenting her drink safety keychain Spikey and earned $17,000 at the Uncharted Learning Summit in Chicago.

She also received $4,500 in start-up funds at the March EIC Final Pitch Contest, marking the second year a Williamson County student secured the top national spot.

Earlier in July, the Tennessee Department of Education released the 2024-25 TCAP results showing Williamson County Schools ranked among the state’s top achievers with gains in English/Language Arts, math, science and social studies — a sign of strong performance.

WCS Superintendent Jason Golden said he is proud of the students and will keep working to help them grow.

Williamson County Schools welcomed more than 300 new teachers in a two-day induction program that began on July 28 and introduced them to district operations.

The program prepared the educators for their roles—ensuring a smooth start to the new school year.

Franklin Polo Academy and Friends of Franklin Parks will host the International Cup charity polo match featuring Team USA + Team Mexico on Friday, August 15 at The Park at Harlinsdale Farm to support local parks.
