CULTURE NEWS

  • The Franklin Bacon & Barrel Festival will be held Friday, September 5th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at The Factory At Franklin — an event offering unlimited bacon samples, 12 whiskey tastings, live music, and photo opportunities. Tickets cost $65 for general admission and $110 for VIP groups — with proceeds benefiting TennGreen Land Conservancy.  Williamson County Source
  • Broadway Wicked alums Carrie St. Louis as Glinda and Teal Wicks as Elphaba will headline an exclusive cabaret fundraiser for Studio Tenn on Saturday, November 8 at 7 p.m.—tickets include a VIP meet-and-greet for the first 50 buyers. The event will take place at Turner Theater inside the Factory at Franklin and will support Studio Tenn's mission to produce Broadway-quality shows while training new storytellers.  Williamson County Source

FINANCE NEWS

  • Heritage Foundation of Williamson County came under scrutiny after anonymous citizens submitted over 100 pages of documents alleging financial mismanagement, governance issues, and conflicts of interest. The board said the organization ended 2024 with a net positive balance, noted that audits are underway, and explained that reports (including a worst-case cash projection) are routine for planning purposes.  Williamson Herald

  • Local businessman and Sunday school teacher Rodney Taylor launched his campaign for Franklin alderman on Tuesday, July 29 at Mercantile Deli where about 35 people attended, and he is challenging incumbent Patrick Baggett for Ward 4. Taylor— a retired business consultant who also writes and flies— vowed to support responsible growth and demand fiscal accountability from City Hall if elected.  Williamson Herald
