COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Healing Housing held a ribbon cutting at 509 New Hwy 96 W STE 102 in Franklin on July 24 as it partnered with Franklin Recovery Center to launch a new Intensive Outpatient Program. The program offers group therapy, education and recovery strategies for those in addiction recovery.  Williamson County Source

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Culinary Dropout announced its new Franklin restaurant at 4020 Aspen Grove Drive at McEwen Northside will open on September 10—adding a location to its 13-restaurant chain across six states.  Williamson County Source
  • PennePazze will open a new family-owned restaurant at Canteen on Carothers in Franklin in early 2026. The 3,400-square-foot location will feature its debut gelato experience—Gelato Pazzo, an outdoor patio, an in-house Italian market with imported goods, and will create about 30 local jobs.  Williamson County Source

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On July 31, Williamson County Mayor Rogers Anderson announced he will not run for reelection next August as he retires from politics after more than two decades of service—he said he looks forward to spending more time with his family and tending his vegetable garden.  Williamson Herald
  • TDOT is closing lanes on I-65 northbound in Williamson County for paving work. Monday night, lanes 1, 2 & 3 were closed; later tonight, lanes 4 & 5 will be closed and on Wednesday, the ramp from Concord Road will be closed, so drivers should allow extra time and move over.  Williamson County Source
  • The Franklin Police Department welcomed its largest recruit class in its history on Monday when 14 new officers joined after nearly 200 applicants submitted their interest—six of these recruits are experienced lateral officers from other agencies. They will begin eight weeks of intensive training to prepare for field duties and strengthen service in Franklin.  Williamson County Source
  • Officials at the Tennessee Wars Commission announced that the grant cycle for the Civil War Sites Preservation Fund will open on August 11th with $3.2 million available for preserving key Civil War and Underground Railroad sites. Eligible non-profits with 501c3 status must apply online and meet the one-to-one 50 percent match requirement by October 31st — the digital process streamlines the award application.  Williamson County Source
  • At the recent Breakfast with the Mayors, new mayors Nelson Andrews from Brentwood and Matt Fitterer from Spring Hill joined Franklin Mayor Ken Moore and County Mayor Rogers Anderson to discuss local plans to improve transportation. They presented projects such as Franklin’s McEwen Drive phases with a $30 million grant—aimed at easing local traffic—and road improvements including a new developer-funded project—planned to reduce congestion as growth continues.  Williamson County Source
