BUSINESS NEWS

  • Williamson, Inc. held its 50th ribbon cutting on Aug. 1 at the Williamson County Fair's opening night at the AG Expo Park in Franklin — local officials and volunteers gathered to cut a special purple ribbon marking the event. The fair continues until Aug. 9 and offers community members rides, games, and food.  Williamson Herald

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Williamson County College and Industry Fair will be held Tuesday, September 9 at the Williamson County Ag Expo Center from 4:30-7:30 p.m.—colleges, universities and business officials will provide financial aid sessions and career information for students and families.  Williamson County Source
  • Ravenwood High’s flag football coach Ricky Rodriguez was named the Tennessee Titans Flag Football Coach of the Year after his girls team won the inaugural state invitational in the spring (the award was announced on July 17) and he said the players deserve the honor.  Williamson County Source
  • Thousands of students began the school year on August 4 at Williamson County schools, where they enjoyed photo stations and dance parties — the warm welcome set a positive tone for the new school year.  Williamson County Source
  • On July 29, more than 200 WCS high school students earned their Seal of Biliteracy for 2025—this is the most in district history as students demonstrated strong language skills in 14 different languages. Current students can learn more about the program by contacting their school counselor or world language teacher.  Williamson County Source
  • Families may again track their student's bus during the 2025-26 school year using the Stopfinder app. Those new to the district or bus riding should have received an activation email before August 4 and are instructed to set up their account using Skyward—then download the app to view and share bus schedules.  Williamson County Source

HEALTH NEWS

  • Williamson County’s Department of Health released inspection scores from July 30 to August 6 and found that Miso Japanese Restaurant in Franklin received the lowest score—its routine inspection was conducted on July 30 at 842020 fieldstone parkway #500.  Williamson County Source

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • A master plan for Arno Village was revealed on Tuesday night at Grace Church in Franklin, detailing a 75-acre development with 250 lots, a town center, various homes, and 50% preserved green space—residents expressed concerns over traffic and access while final studies and annexation plans are still pending.  Williamson Herald
