- ➤ Franklin’s historic Harlinsdale barn is now open to the public after a $5 million renovation that updated its roof, floors, bathrooms, and siding — allowing the venue to host events. More than 100 local officials and community members attended the Aug. 19 ribbon cutting as plans to preserve nearby cabins and create a museum on Tennessee Walking Horses are underway. - ➤ Williamson County Public Library announced a new Discovery Passes program that will let library cardholders check out free passes to local cultural and historical attractions—beginning with the Moore-Morris History & Culture Center in downtown Franklin on September 2. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Six law enforcement supervisors from Rutherford, Williamson, Montgomery and nearby counties earned the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Award at a ceremony at the Murfreesboro Police Department—recognizing their completion of three leadership programs that prepare them for effective, ethical service. - ➤ Middle Tennessee roadwork will cause alternating lane closures on highways including I-24, I-40, I-65 and I-840 from August 21 to 27 as resurfacing, milling and paving take place nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.- drivers are advised to expect delays during these projects. Williamson County Source
- ➤ Alderman Jason Potts announced his reelection campaign as Franklin’s Ward 3 representative, citing his record of community safety improvements, traffic upgrades, and balanced budgets (he increased police pay and expanded parkland) during his first term.
