CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Two Georgia men have been arrested for stealing over $9,200 in circuit breakers from a local home improvement store on Mallory Ln on August 11 and are held in Williamson County Jail with bonds set at $7,000 each — they are also accused of similar thefts in Columbia, Tullahoma, Shelbyville, Greenville, and Clemson. - ➤ Residents in Franklin's Ward 1 will attend a townhall on Monday, Sept 8, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Parish Presbyterian PCA Church in Clovercroft Hall on Clovercroft Road—Alderman Bev Burger, Mayor Ken Moore, and city representatives will discuss the McEwen Drive Phase IV build out, the city budget, and upcoming capital investment projects. - ➤ On Aug. 27, Franklin held an open house at Eastern Flank Battlefield Park to gather public input on historic preservation, where residents noted ideas on landmarks and housing challenges. City officials including Vice Mayor Jason Potts listened to feedback and planned a public charette from Oct. 21—23 with a draft preservation plan expected in early 2026. Williamson Herald
