COMMUNITY NEWS

  • On Sept. 6, members of the Franklin Fire Department held a remembrance ceremony and open house at Station 6 to honor the 24th anniversary of Sept. 11—over 100 people observed a burn demonstration, Morse code tribute, and live performances while local vendors provided free snacks and a $6,200 donation was given to expand the youth Explorer program.  Williamson Herald
  • Tractor Supply and Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee are teaming up for the Grow For A Neighbor campaign—collecting fresh produce donations at four locations on September 13 and October 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to help families facing food insecurity by accepting only whole fruits and vegetables.  Williamson Herald

  • Today, a new Photo of the Day series launched to showcase local sights in Williamson County — the first feature spotlights Amerigo at 1656 Westgate Circle in Brentwood, known for weekend brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; residents are invited to submit original photos for future editions.  Williamson County Source
  • On September 9th, Morning Source featured Donna Vissman, John from Tennessee Woodpile, and Brian from Slocam Ramblers as they discussed the band's upcoming bluegrass show at the Mockingbird Theatre in Franklin — the group, recognized from the Grand Ole Opry and award-winning performances, will perform for local audiences.  Williamson County Source

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices in Tennessee increased by eight cents over the past week, raising the state average to $2.84 per gallon—up five cents from a month ago. Major metro areas like Nashville and Knoxville experienced the largest increases while other regions saw only small changes.  Williamson County Source

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Williamson County Commissioners approved two bond resolutions on Monday—one for up to $21,600,000 to design College Grove Park and another for $16,700,000 for a new fire engine and park upgrades—with some commissioners expressing concern over increasing debt while others stressed the need for improved local amenities.  Williamson Herald
