- ➤ On Sept. 11, Franklin Police Department held a 9/11 memorial ceremony attended by about 90 people—officials including Police Chief Deb Faulkner and Mayor Ken Moore urged unity as a quarter-century anniversary approaches. - ➤ The Franklin Police Department announced the passing of Brad Lewis, a local craftsman who built wooden toy chests for the annual holiday toy drive in memory of his daughter Kristi Clark and grandson Carter Oakley—whose loss in 2015 deeply affected the community. - ➤ Beloved banker and community leader Lee Moss was honored at a Celebration of Life this week after he lost his battle with glioblastoma—he served in the banking industry for nearly 50 years and was known for his mentorship. - ➤ The Heritage Foundation of Williamson County held a Heritage Ball Patron Party—presented by Medical House Calls—at Leiper’s Fork Distillery where they announced Bob and Kay Musgrove and Hunter Jones as Patron Award recipients. The foundation said the Heritage Ball will be held on October 4 at Bicentennial Park Pavilion. Williamson County Source
- ➤ The General Jackson Showboat will launch its new Tailgate Cruise series on Sept. 21, Nov. 16, and Dec. 28, offering fans a riverfront experience with buffet breakfast, desserts, and a live DJ. Guests will board at 8:45 a.m. CT from the Showboat dock and the vessel will dock near Nissan Stadium—no game ticket is needed—allowing passengers to choose to stay aboard during the game or leave early. - ➤ On Sept 12, TSSAA posted Week 4 high school football scores from ten counties in middle Tennessee. The results from counties including Cannon, Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Maury, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Williamson and Wilson showed Cannon County winning 49 to 8 and other matchups ending with varied scores.
