  • Hello Motherhood held a ribbon cutting on September 4 at 103 Confederate Drive, Suite 103 in Franklin — the community organization now offers support and connection for mothers at every stage.  Williamson County Source
  • Harpeth Conservancy’s River Swing returns to River Circle Farm in Franklin on Saturday, September 20 from 6—11 p.m. and will feature headlining music by St. Paul and the Broken Bones, a silent auction, and a catered BBQ to raise funds for clean water and healthy rivers.  Williamson County Source
  • Friends of Franklin Parks announced the return of its 2025 Bourbon Raffle to support local parks; tickets cost $105 and will be on sale until October 9 at 7:00 p.m. CST. A live drawing will stream at 7:30 p.m. CST—collectors have a chance to win 12 exclusive bourbon lots including rare releases like Pappy Van Winkle and Buffalo Trace Antique Collection.  Williamson County Source
  • The 15th Annual Grape Stomp Festival is set for Saturday, October 11th from 4 to 7 p.m. at The Factory at Franklin Pavilion (Franklin) where local partners will serve food, wine, bourbon, and beer during an old-fashioned grape stomp competition.  Williamson County Source
  • Local leaders and community members gathered at Franklin Square Sunday evening for a memorial to remember Charlie Kirk and others killed in violent acts across the country—organizers including police and sheriff ensured safety while celebrities led prayer.  Williamson Herald

  • Happy Backyards is hosting a fall display event at its Cool Springs Galleria showroom in Franklin to show off custom indoor sports court installations designed for winter play. ECONOMY NEWS

  • AAA reported gas prices fell six cents last week to an average of $2.78 (a price that was still four cents higher than one month and one year ago) as lower demand and ample crude supply affected the market.  Williamson County Source

EDUCATION NEWS

  • At its September 15 meeting, the Williamson County School Board re‐elected District Four Representative Josh Brown as Chair and elected District Nine Representative Claire Reeves as Vice Chair—Superintendent Jason Golden thanked community members during public comment and discussed the district’s investigation process.  Williamson County Source
  • Williamson County Schools suspended teacher Emily Orbison without pay after she stated that murder was justifiable and rational on social media following Charlie Kirk’s death; another teacher is under investigation for a similar comment. Superintendent Jason Golden said the investigation will follow standard procedures with a decision expected within two weeks—officials aim to uphold professional conduct among educators.  Williamson Herald

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Tennessee Recycling Coalition will host its 2nd Annual Women’s Environmental Leadership Summit at the Hilton Cool Springs Hotel in Franklin on Oct. 1—2 to support women in the recycling, sustainability and environmental protection sectors. Attendees will tour Franklin’s Recycling and Solid Waste Facility on Oct. 1 to discuss critical issues and develop solutions in the industry.  Williamson County Source
  • TWRA confirmed an increase in hemorrhagic disease among white-tailed deer in eight counties including Franklin—Giles, Humphreys, Lewis, Shelby, Sumner, Wayne, and Williamson due to spring rains and late-summer dry weather that aided midges. TWRA will continue monitoring the outbreak and urges reports of sick or dead deer.  Williamson County Source

  • Franklin will kick off election season with a Meet the Candidates virtual event on Friday, Sept. 19 at 8 a.m. on Facebook — candidates for Mayor and Alderman races will address key issues while voter registration closes on Sept. 29 ahead of election day on Oct. 28.  Williamson Herald

  • TSSAA has released the Week 5 high school football schedule for Middle Tennessee with most games set for Sept 19th — the schedule features matchups across counties Cannon, Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Maury, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Wilson, and Williamson.  Williamson County Source
