  • On Monday morning, Oct 6, Victor and Brittany Gonzalez and their two children were surprised with keys to a new rental home in Franklin—gifted by Retirement Solutions Group in partnership with Gradient Gives Back Foundation to provide 12 months of rent-free housing. The family had been living in cramped conditions and now has a stable place to call home just in time for the holidays.  Williamson Herald
  • Country star Joe Nichols hosted HOME RUN FOR HOPE on September 28 in Nashville to raise awareness and funds for the city’s first ADA compliant baseball field—he also gifted sporting equipment to local groups including the Special Olympics of Tennessee Youth Athletes, West Nashville Sports League, The King's Daughters' School and Mt.   • Buc-ee’s will break ground on Tuesday, October 14 at 3:30 p.m. CST at I-24 — Joe B Jackson Parkway in Murfreesboro as local leaders attend a ceremony for the new 74,000-square-foot travel center expected to create over 250 full-time jobs.  Williamson County Source

  • A new article lists 13 haunted places in Middle Tennessee with sites ranging from historic battlefields and plantations to hotels and reputed ghost spots, including the Bell Witch Cave in Adams which will host paranormal investigations later this year—offering a modern event to a long-held local legend.  Williamson County Source
  • Taylor Hicks, the season five American Idol winner, said he will perform at the Franklin Theatre on Friday, October 17th and explained his connection (Taylor Swift) during an interview with Morning Source.  Williamson County Source

  • On Oct.6, seven candidates for the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen presented their final cases at Columbia State Community College ahead of early voting that began Oct.8 and will last through Oct.23 with election day on Oct.28. The forum focused on managing growth, affordable housing, and traffic issues—key topics that each candidate addressed in their plans.  Williamson Herald

HEALTH NEWS

  • Williamson Health is partnering with Blood Assurance to host an indoor blood drive on Monday, October 13 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Williamson Medical Center in the Willoughby Meeting Rooms—donors who sign up online will be entered in a raffle for a 12-foot-tall Halloween skeleton and can receive additional incentives based on their blood type.  Williamson County Source
  • Inspire Youth Psychiatry and Wellness opened to help children, teens, and young adults with mental health challenges and offers therapy as well as creative workshops—focusing on building resilience and purpose. Founded by Dr. Bayan Jalalizadeh, the practice welcomes families from Brentwood, Nolensville, and greater Nashville and is now accepting new patients.  Williamson County Source
