COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Five local leaders were honored at the Sage Awards Luncheon on Nov. 7 as AgeWell Middle Tennessee celebrated community contributions and raised nearly $32,000 for services to older adults and caregivers—Williamson Inc.'s Nancy Conway earned the Elizabeth Jacobs Distinguished Service Award for more than 30 years of dedicated service in Williamson County.  Williamson Herald

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • The Franklin Police Department is urging drivers to remain alert as deer activity increases during mating season and several vehicle collisions have occurred in recent weeks—police advise slowing down, using high beams when possible, and calling 9-1-1 if a collision occurs.  Williamson County Source

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Peter Finzer and his group experienced safety issues when their rental RV overheated after an unsuccessful wheel repair. West Power Services correctly diagnosed the problem and provided overnight support—helping the travelers resume their journey safely.  Williamson County Source
  • Ruff Riders is a new dog park shuttle service that picks up dogs from their home and takes them to parks in Franklin, Thompson’s Station and Spring Hill for play and socialization. The service uses scheduled pickup times with live GPS texts—prices start at $25 and all dogs must be current on core vaccines.  Williamson County Source

CULTURE NEWS

  • Donna Vissman and John Craig discussed Bluegrass at the Bird on Morning Source, an event set for Saturday, November 22nd—featuring legendary bluegrass artist Larry Sparks and offering fans live bluegrass music.  Williamson County Source

HEALTH NEWS

  • Williamson Health is hosting its annual lung cancer screening event this November to help catch lung problems early. Community members can get a low dose CT scan for $150 if paying directly at two imaging locations — one in Franklin, and they can call 615-435-5361 to schedule an appointment.  Williamson County Source

SPORTS NEWS

  • On November 10th the Predators lost 6-3 to the Rangers at Madison Square Garden as Matthew Wood recorded his first hat trick — his three goals in separate periods could not offset poor goaltending and defensive errors.  Williamson County Source
  • TSSAA set the week 2 schedule for Tennessee high school football playoffs with games scheduled on November 14 in counties such as Cannon, Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Maury, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Wilson and Williamson—live scores will be updated on game night.  Williamson County Source
