- ➤ The City of Franklin will host its 2025 Christmas Tree Lighting on the Square on December 5 with free Santa photos, musical performances by headliner Matthew West and the Freedom Intermediate School choir, and additional holiday events including a Christkindlmarkt and an art crawl. Festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. with the tree lighting scheduled for 7:15 p.m. Williamson County Source
- ➤ Gateway Church in Franklin will host its annual Buy a Tree, Change a Life event from Nov. 22 through Nov. 26 and again until Dec. 6, where families will buy trees grown in North Carolina and kids will warm up with hot chocolate—continuing a tradition that raised over $100,000 last year and more than half a million dollars since 2014. The event at 1288 Lewisburg Pike supports children both locally and abroad. Williamson Herald
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Signage is now visible at the new In-N-Out Burger location on 1951 Double Double Drive in the Berry Farms area as the company begins its first expansion east of Texas. In-N-Out broke ground on a 100,000-square-foot headquarters near the restaurant in September 2024 and expects to serve customers in early 2026—marking a major step in its regional development. - ➤ Dolly Parton announced a strategic partnership with the Tennessean Travel Stop team to rebrand its flagship travel center in Cornersville, with a new name scheduled to debut by early Summer. - ➤ Stand-up comedian Nate Bargatze announced his company Nateland is partnering with Storyland Studios to explore a family-friendly theme park in the greater Nashville area. The partners are reviewing 100+ acre sites and will complete a feasibility study in Q1 before seeking investor support. Williamson County Source
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Franklin Special District announced Dr. Amanda Muniz from Moore Elementary as Principal of the Year and Robbin Cross as Supervisor of the Year, and they will represent the district in the state Excellence in Education awards program — a recognition of their strong leadership in academics and nutrition services. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Thursday, Nov. 13, more than two dozen local citizens spoke at the Williamson County Regional Planning Commission hearing in College Grove to oppose a 72-lot subdivision planned near a sacred burial site at Allison Chapel Burial Grounds—residents argued the project could harm a key part of the community's history. The commission voted to deny the application requests and required the developer to address these concerns before reapplying—officials said further historical research is needed. Williamson Herald
