COMMUNITY NEWS

  • A 1.4-acre section of Jim Warren Park in Franklin will be dedicated as the Franklin Noon Rotary Club Rodeo Park, featuring a 12-foot bronze statue of a cowboy riding a bucking horse—benches, lighting, and a walking trail will share the 75-year history of the rodeo. The statue will be installed in June 2026 as part of a partnership between the Rotary Club and the Parks and Recreation Department.  Williamson Herald
  • Franklin will host its annual Christmas Parade on December 6 with former TV personalities Nikki Burdine and Neil Orne serving as emcees—providing live commentary along Main Street from a stage by Ascension St. Thomas. The event is hosted by the Downtown Franklin Rotary Club and sponsored by Medical House Calls, with community leader Alma McLemore as grand marshal.  Williamson Herald

  • Chipotle Mexican Grill will open its new Franklin location on Tuesday, November 25 at 2009 Columbia Ave—featuring Chipotlane for drive-thru digital orders and a limited-time Carne Asada option with operating hours from 10:45 a.m. until 10 p.m. The restaurant also offers college students enrollment in Chipotle U Rewards and a build-your-own meal option with a promotional discount code.  Williamson County Source

CULTURE NEWS

  • On Nov. 24 the African American Heritage Society of Williamson County will host its November Porch Talks at the Williamson County Public Library at 1314 Columbia Ave at 6 p.m.—the event will feature guest speaker Tina Cahalan Jones, founder of the Slaves to Soldiers project, and veteran reenactor Bill Radcliffe who modeled for a USCT statue.  Williamson Herald

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit earned national champion honors at the USPCA Patrol Dog Trials in Florida from November 9–14, with Deputy Shaun Stein and K9 Jasper earning the Top Dog title (their top scores marked significant achievements). Officials credited the unit’s strong performance and teamwork, led by Lieutenant Mike Grandy, as evidence of a growing training program (pointing to future successes).  Williamson County Source
  • Last night, Davis House Child Advocacy Center was given a special proclamation from the State House and Senate to mark its 25th anniversary, and Rep. Lee Reeves presented the honor to Executive Director Carolyn Evans. The center helps children and families in Williamson County and will keep offering its free services to those in need.  Williamson Herald

HEALTH NEWS

  • Blood Assurance is offering special donor incentives to boost the blood supply ahead of Thanksgiving; eligible O-negative blood donors and platelet donors at Franklin Donor Center and other select locations will receive a $50 eGift card and a holiday T-shirt (supplies permitting) from November 23 to 30. The Franklin center will open on November 23 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to help address a critical need.  Williamson County Source
