COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Southern Land Company, the developer of Westhaven, will host its sixth annual tree lighting event on Monday, Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. at Magli Green in Franklin—honorary tree lighters Dana Hardy and Mark McCutcheon will lead the ceremony, followed by classic caroling and treats from local vendors.  Williamson County Source
  • Williamson County residents Nikki Burdine and Neil Orne will serve as official emcees for the Franklin Christmas Parade on December 6, hosted by the Downtown Franklin Rotary Club and sponsored by Medical House Calls. They will provide live commentary from a stage in Franklin square sponsored by Ascension St. Thomas — adding excitement as the parade salutes military and first responders.  Williamson County Source
  • Brentwood Fire and Rescue is collecting new and unwrapped toys for the GraceWorks Ministries Manger program until Friday, Dec. 5. Donations at drop-off boxes placed at fire stations, the library, service center, police department, and city hall will help over 1,700 children pick gifts during the second week of December.  Williamson Herald
  • The Center for Nonprofit Excellence of Middle Tennessee announced the winners for its 2025 Salute to Excellence Awards presented by Amazon at the Music City Center, with HCA Healthcare Foundation receiving the Lewis Lavine President’s Award—recognizing its work to strengthen local nonprofits. The awards honored community organizations and leaders dedicated to tackling social challenges in our region.  Williamson County Source

CULTURE NEWS

  • Nashville-based pop-rock group THE BAND LIGHT will headline their fourth annual Lightyear event at the Franklin Theatre on January 10, bringing new songs, enhanced visuals, and surprise guests for a big hometown homecoming. The band, whose journey began at Summit High School (Spring Hill), continues to grow its passionate following.  Williamson County Source
  • Robert Hicks' exhibit opened on Nov. 21 at the Moore-Morris History and Cultural Museum in Franklin, drawing many visitors to remember his work preserving Civil War battlefields and his role as a community friend — his suit, awards, and writing desk were key attractions. The exhibit, which also shows published interviews and historic photos, ran until early next year.  Williamson Herald

  • A report detailed the 25 highest price real estate transfers in Williamson County between November 3rd and 7th, with a record sale at $45,605,700 on Peytonsville Rd in Franklin—other big deals occurred in Thompsons Station, Brentwood, and College Grove.  Williamson County Source
