Series Kickoff: A Conversation with Bill Haslam
Presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee
Executive Insights returns on Tuesday, November 17, 2026, at the Grand Ole Opry’s Studio A, as former Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam joins Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Stephanie Coleman for a fireside chat.
From the mayor’s office to the governor’s office to the Nashville Predators, Bill Haslam has spent his career leading organizations, building partnerships, and investing in the region.
As Tennessee’s 49th governor, Haslam was reelected in 2014 by the largest margin in state history. He championed tuition-free community and technical college for high school graduates and adults, making Tennessee the first state in the nation to offer it, and the state was recognized as the fastest-improving in the country in K-12 education. He also worked with the General Assembly to pass the largest tax cut in Tennessee history while improving the state’s transportation infrastructure.
Today, as chairman of the Nashville Predators, which he and his family own, Haslam is applying that experience to professional sports, team building, and investment in Nashville’s future, while raising the region’s profile nationally and internationally.
