  • Franklin Police celebrated 13 school crossing guards last week at police headquarters for keeping students safe, and two guards—Lisa Harris and Annie Esmond—received plaques for 30 and 15 years of service as the school year ends.  Williamson Herald
  • On Tuesday morning, May 26, Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Franklin at Breakfast dedicated a Peace Pole at Aspen Grove Park with Franklin’s Sister Cities to honor peace—displaying the message 'May Peace Prevail on Earth' in four languages.  Williamson Herald

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Middle Tennessee's first Tous les Jours bakery opened on May 29 at 600B Frazier Drive, Suite 104 (former Genghis Grill) in Franklin and operates self serve with croissants, cloud cake, and breads using Asian baking methods, and it is open daily from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.  Williamson County Source
  • The Tennessee County Clerk reported that Williamson County issued new business licenses from May 26 to June 1, 2026, for companies in Franklin and nearby areas, including SKE Contracting LLC & Battleground South Cigar Lounge. CULTURE NEWS

  • This June, Kings Bowl hosts Pride Month events with a donation-earning Love Wins Lavender Lemonade cocktail, a World Tournament offering free bowling perks from June 11 – July 19, and Father’s Day specials featuring burger+beer deals with challenges at 1910 Galleria Boulevard in Franklin.  Williamson County Source

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Tennessee will be the nation’s first state to introduce a technology-neutral fusion regulation on June 9, which sets licensing requirements for fusion machines; the new framework aims to support projects like Type One Energy’s Infinity Two near Oak Ridge, with construction planned to begin in 2028.  Williamson County Source

HEALTH NEWS

  • YMCA of Middle Tennessee has invested in the AngelEye system — a drowning detection tool that aids lifeguards at indoor pools. Installations occurred last May at centers in Franklin, Sumner, and Robertson Counties, with a 30-day testing phase before full integration is expected by year's end.  Williamson County Source
