If you were around Brentwood last weekend, check your calendar. Metro Public Health confirmed Nashville's second measles case of 2026 and flagged seven places where people may have been exposed. The person was unvaccinated and had recently traveled internationally, and officials say the case poses no broader threat to the public. The Nashville Banner's morning brief lists the same seven stops.

  • Symptoms: fever, cough, red watery eyes and a rash
  • Worried? Call a health care provider for guidance
  • MMR shots: Metro clinics, Mon.-Fri. by appointment
  • Walk-ins: accepted as space allows until 2:30 p.m.

Vanderbilt's Dr. William Schaffner put it bluntly: "Unfortunately, measles is back." Remedy Lash and Co. founder Taylor Stewart said the health department has cleared the salon to return to normal operations.

The Wrap

Minnie Pearl has her own traveling exhibit, and it's parked at the John P. Holt Brentwood Library through Nov. 19. "The Many Hats of Minnie Pearl" brings interactive displays, historical items and stories about the country comedy icon and her Williamson County connection, and it's free during regular library hours. We hear the price tag is still just right.
